How to use Redirect map
- Paste the proposed source and target pairs.
- Run the check and fix duplicate sources, self-redirects, loops and malformed paths.
- Test the final redirects on the deployed host and keep a record of the migration.

What the result means
The report catches structural problems visible in the supplied map. It cannot prove what the server will do until the rules are deployed and tested.
Important considerations
- Chains can only be detected when every hop is present in the map.
- Repeated targets are not automatically wrong; many old URLs can legitimately consolidate to one relevant page.
- The checker does not make HTTP requests.
Worked example
Keep one direct mapping from an old URL to its final canonical destination rather than mapping through an intermediate page.
