YouTube Video Sitemap Generator.

Create a sitemap snippet for a page that hosts or embeds a YouTube video. The default mode runs locally; an optional compatibility mode can try the existing Website-Me extraction service when browser access to that endpoint is available.

How to use Video sitemap

  1. Choose local generation and enter the YouTube video plus the page where it is embedded.
  2. Add the title and description, then include optional thumbnail, player, publication date and duration details where known.
  3. Copy or download the XML, and review it alongside the final page and sitemap before publishing.

What the result means

The XML describes one hosting page and one video entry using the supplied metadata. The optional JSON-LD is a separate VideoObject representation for the page source.

Important considerations

  • A video sitemap does not guarantee Google video indexing, a rich result or a particular search appearance.
  • The local version cannot safely scrape YouTube metadata; add or verify title, description and dates yourself.
  • The legacy extraction service is a separate backend dependency and may be unavailable to browsers if its cross-origin policy changes.

Worked example

For a page at https://example.com/video/, use its exact canonical URL, the YouTube watch URL, a factual title and a description that matches the visible page.
